Betty’s professional work experiences have included teaching and administrative positions in the Chicago Public School System, adjunct professor at Northeastern and Loyola Universities, business owner of Aynot Learning Center which provided private tutorial services for all ages; and owner of hair and nail salons at eight locations in Chicago and Evanston, IL.
Community/volunteer commitments:
Woman’s Educational Aid Association (WEAA) Board of Directors (President from 2019-2024, Vice President from 2006-2019; Bylaws Committee (chair), Educational Aid Committee (chair) Social Committee/Scholar Engagement Committee, and Communications Committee (chair); and Park Tower Condominium Board of Directors, 48th Ward Master Plan Committee, New Direction Outreach Board of Directors, East Edgewater Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors as Educational Consultant, North Shore Baptist Church Board of Directors; and Volunteer work with city, state and national political campaigns.
Interests:
Betty enjoys walking on the lakefront and participating in the CAC walking tours and learning about the hidden jewels in the city of Chicago, traveling, and spending time with family.
